Gucci just launched a new app for the iPhone and iPhone Touch today. The fashion house is clearly having a tech moment, as this comes on the heels of its new social media site, Gucci Eyeweb.
The release coincides with the GUCCI ICON-TEMPORARY project, a traveling sneaker store which opens on October 24 at 43 Crosby Street in New York City, before moving to Miami on December 1. Then it heads to London and Tokyo in the spring.
It is also the only place you’ll be able to land a pair of limited edition sneakers designed with DJ, musician and producer Mark Ronson. The sneakers, called Gucci Ronson, are available for $530.
Other exclusive content includes videos, fashion shows, latest collections, news, events and store listings.
But the most progressive feature is called Gucci Beats, which lets you mix your own music tracks on a virtual turntable.
Choose and layer your bass, drums, vocals, synths and effects and you’ll be able to create a kickin’ loop and record it to play for friends or share via email andFacebook.
Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini and Ronson have also come up with personal playlists which can be downloaded directly from the iTunes store. Giannini says the music has helped inspire some of her fashion collections.
To round out the exclusive vibe of the luxury fashion house, the Gucci Little Black Book is available with the swipe of a finger, featuring best-of information for hotels, restaurants, clubs and bars in more than 20 cities around the world.
So, no matter where you are, you’ll be able to find a Gucci-approved hangout.
The app is free, but the content is pure fashion gold.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Angelina Jolie are in talks to play the monarchs of The Gucci Family in director Ridley Scott’s new film about the fashion dynasty.
Jolie is slated to play Patrizia Reggiano, the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci, who was sentenced to 29 years in prison for masterminding the murder-for-hire plot that killed the fashion guru in 1995, according to Thursday’s Variety.
Shooting on the Gucci biopic is expected to begin early next year.
